I'm happy today because....

Hi,

I'm happy today because, the sun is shining, the pansies in my garden are flowering and the trees are just about to burst......AND I managed to pull the bed out so I could clean behind it, a year ago this was unheard of, so onwards and upwards, (one small step for mankind but a huge one for me).

What has made you happy today?

Hi,

I'm happy for much the same reasons - the sun is shining brightly here too, my little apricot tree is in full bloom, and a long awaited and much wanted project to replace carpet with wood is progressing nicely. Just think, no more dragging a vacuum around - I can replace it with a dust mop. Woohoo!

Hope everyone's day is great. :happy-day:

I'm happy too!!! I managed to have a bath and wash my hair...both on the same day!! Also when my husband comes home from work he's off for 4 days so tonight we're having a take away, watching MasterChef and stuffing ourselves with chocolate eggs! :emoticons-yes:

Have a great weekend all!

I'm happy because I feel better today that I have felt in months. It's like all the fatigue has disappeared overnight. :emoticons-yes: Part of me wants to know why, the other part says just enjoy the feeling!

I'm happy today because I am feeling so much better since my kidney transplant. It is amazing! I will be in isolation for several more weeks and am starting to get a little bored. I am very limited as far as my activities but I think when I am able I will have much more interest in taking care of things. But it it well worth it.\\miocean

I'm happy again today because for the first time in 6 years I went in the ocean! Before sclero I swam a mile almost everyday, then with the dialysis catheter I couldn't get wet. All I could manage to do was get in and float around a little but it felt marvelous.

Miocean- that sounds wonderful. It's good to hear that you are better and better. Your reward for all the patience and persistance.

I must admit to a bit of jealousy. Our section of the Pacific is beautiful and dramatic- also about 54 degrees most of the summer. Also I've been there two times where people were hauled off in an ambulance due to shark bite. Not floating kind of beaches.

But I have stood on the beach and watched whales swim by.

Oh and I'm feeling good today too.

I finally shut my old dog up in the laundry room for the night. With letting her out and my having to get up for myself (which never coordinated,) I was getting up 5 or 6 times a night. But I felt too guilty to put her out of the bedroom where she spent every night of her life.

I thought I would have to clean up each morning but she adjusted after the first two nights and doesn't seem as traumatized as I thought she would be. I guess it was more important to me than her. Seems she trained me vey well. :)

Three nights of good sleep is a wonderful pick-me-up.

I'm happy today because yesterday we fulfilled the dream of our first "Dream Child." She is 17 and suffers from a bone disease that has caused her to have 8 surgeries in the past 5 years. Her dream was to meet the Jonas Brothers. It wasn't easy, but we were able to make it happen thanks to contacts from Hollywood Records. She was thrilled!

Miocean- what a wonderful thing you did. A 17 year old's idea of perfection...........

Today, I spent a relatively lazy day. After animal chores and paperwork in the morning, I took the afternoon off and went to the library. I now have a bag full of British (and a few American) mystery novels to read.

Maybe the British members of the forum can tell me why so many great mysteries are written there. I have been through several series. On two of the writers, I haunt the internet to see if another in their series have been published. May Susanna Gregory write forever...........

There are a million things I need to do outside- but it rained yesterday and today. The goats are huddled in their sheds, the horses under the trees- and I'm snugged into the house relaxing. As the song says- you may not get what you want but with luck you may get what you need. And I really need this time off of chores.

Books, computers and the heater- what an old lady I've become. :)

I am happy today because I went to the beauty parlor and fixed my hair for the first time in 3 months. And because I found you guys, so I am not alonejump-for-joy.gif

Today the weather is going to be warm- about 80, and I finally going to get to one of my last serious projects to finish before winter. I'm going to seal the back door on the hay shed.

I built the shed myself in my more active days but didn't get the door area right- it faces the direction the rain is driven by winter storms and leaks, spoiling hay.

I feel energetic and good so today is the day. Out I go right now to feed the creatures then fix the door. I love the feeling of being ready for the long, stormy winter.

Ah- life on the little farmlette- this is what I wanted all my life and it is good still.

My handsome hubby and I just had 2 wonderful weeks of vacation together, one week of it in a cabin on a salmon river with no phone, TV, or internet and no worries back home because the kids were taking care of everything! We spent 3 days going and 4 days returning driving through a big chunk of the US that we had never seen before. My husband came back so relaxed he forgot to set his alarm clock to go back to work today! :P

Jeannie, I'm thrilled that you had such a delightful vacation. We all need to refresh and restore. And it sounds like you did it up beautifully!

We also vacation to places with no TV, no internet, and usually even no phone signal. Unfortunately those sort of get-aways are starting to fall by the wayside. Pretty soon, I can see places charging even more for "non-amenities" like no TV, no internet, for those who need the tech break (which I believe we all do, regularly, lest our brains, figure and fingers all turn to mush.)

Good for you for doing it up, in style!

Warm Hugs,

Yesterday and today, summer sneaked back- yesterday it was 90 degrees. Days like this are a gift before the freezes and snow that make everything just a little bit harder. Also it gives a small boost to the last of the strawberries in the garden- yum yum.

Yep- you probably guessed that strawberries made me happy today. Warm with the afternoon sun and juicy enough to dribble down the chin.
