Just to bring you guys up to date; I have a visit from 2 managers next Thursday to discuss my future  so hopefully things will get sorted.

They did want me to drive to work which is a round trip of 120 miles, which I declined as I find that I can't drive for longer than 10 miles before I get into a lot of discomfort.

Will keep you posted

Hello Chris

If there's going to be two of them please consider having someone with you. It might be worthwhile getting some advice beforehand, maybe the CAB (Citizen's Advice Bureau) can help...just so you know where you stand if you don't hear what you want to.

Take care and keep us posted.

Chris if you are in a union ask if someone can be with you and to help giving you advice about your situation. I was glad that my union was so supportive when I went through it.

Hope the meeting goes well for you.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the advice.

I have been to the CAB about financial matters since I have been off (7 months now) and the guy we have seen is a ex general practitioner so knows all about my condition and has been very supportive. My boss is contacting me before the meeting to let me know what the brief of the meeting will be so I can be prepared for what rubbish they are going to chuck at me and will have another family member here as well for support.

I will let you guys know the outcome

Hi Chris,

I hope the meeting with your boss goes well, good for you for standing your ground and saying you can't travel that distance for the meeting. Glad your boss is contacting you with a brief about said meeting, like you say at least you can prepare yourself for whatever rubbish they may chuck at you!!! Fortunately I am still able to work right now, albeit part time, but I do know that when I have to face the possibility of ESA or DLA that is when life will become very difficult, not only with the claiming process and all that that entails, but also because it will mean my health has taken a major down turn. I wish you good luck and hope a solution is reached which is in your best interest, it is such a worry not only with all the health implications but also the financial worry so I hope you get things sorted quickly on all fronts.

Take care

Well :emoticons-yes: it went very very well with my employers they have agreed there is no way I can come back to work :emoticons-yes: and they are sorting me out a package so as you might guess I was mighty relieved yesterday. Must admit I was really stressed out up to the meeting and didn't sleep at all the night before.

Oh happy happy days :happy-day: :happy-day:

Thanks you guys for all your love and support :thank-you::thank-you:

Chris

Hi Chris,

I'm a sucker for a happy ending, so glad your employers saw sense and did the only thing they could do. Enjoy your retirement.

Take care

Chris,

Like me I know you would rather not have the illness that forces early retirement but I am delighted you got there in the end.

I know how you feel it is a great relief when its out of the way and you feel that people do believe you.

Its the next chapter of your life so good luck for the future and dont be a stranger

All the best

Bobby
