SuperMa...mother upgraded to super hero status!

9 posts in this topic

Hello All

So Ma broke her hip about 4 months ago and obviously missed hospital so much she had heart attack number 3 two weeks ago. Initially after her angiogram they said she needed more stents in her arteries which is no biggie as she already has about 7 so the plan was just more stents. Well yesterday she was sent to the hospital where the procedure was to be done and all that happened is she got bad news and was sent back again! Suddenly they told her she could not have stents as her main artery is completely blocked, she only has one working artery and that she has a block in it so bypass surgery is in fact the only option. It was something as a shock to go from stents to bypass or die let me tell you! We're now waiting to find out what happens next and when.

As Ma has survived not 1, not 2 but 3 heart attacks leaving her with just one artery and having survived a broken hip I have decided she is invincible hence the upgrade to SuperMa status. It'll take a nuclear explosion to take her out of the game!

The only truly funny thing about scleroderma is watching other people try to spell it or pronounce it. Schulrowdumia, sculrederma, skullderema...

The best mispronunciation I have ever heard of scleroderma is scellderamma!

Take care.

Hi Amanda,

I hope everything goes well for Superma. You tell her there are a lot of us sending good thoughts her way. It is amazing what they can do with bypass surgery nowadays. With your wry and bubbling wit, plus oodles of love, around to bolster her, I'd say she has everything in her favor for yet another good recovery!

Here are some hugs for her, especially from me.

:emoticon-hug:

Hello All

Everything with Ma is a drama...never straight forward! We found out today that a bypass is now off and we're back to stents again! Something to do with the fact that her right artery died a long time ago, we couldn't get out of Ma why it's back to stents because she didn't ask! The good news is that she no longer has to have major surgery and recover from it. She should have the stents done Friday so the saga will finally be over. :happy-day:

Stay tuned for the next exciting instalment!
