Improved Lung Function Tests.

6 posts in this topic

Hi All,

Today I went to The Royal Brompton Hospital and joy of joys!.......my lung function test showed an improvement in my TLCO (oxygen and carbon dioxide transferance) to 85%!! :emoticons-yes: My lung volumes (FVC) have also improved and when I was first diagnosed my TLCO was 48% so I'm feeling rather pleased with myself! ;) :jump-for-joy: (My original thread detailing my treatment is HERE.)

I got to see my favourite consultant who is a really lovely chap and he was well pleased with my result. I was able to thank him and the team profusely; what I love about The Brompton is that the staff there are very friendly, helpful and professional. I've always been treated with kindness and consideration by almost everyone and I usually manage to find someone to have a chat and a bit of a laugh with. They all know me now, so it's rather like belonging to a club!

I've been diagnosed for about 18 months now and I'm hoping that my lungs will stablise and hopefully the scarring won't get any worse. As I told my consultant, if they never improve any more, I can live with that and am jolly grateful for the marvellous treatment I've received! ;)
