I had my hearing before a judge on June 15. The ruling was "completely favorable". Nice to have that out of the way.

It's interesting that they focus directly on the ability to perform work, without much concern for diagnoses. The main point for me was that if I worked, I'd be spending a lot of time sleeping at my desk!

It's also important that: 1. Your physicians agree with your complaints and: 2. There is a long, good faith work history.

Yay! What a weight lifted! I'm not aware of what you went through to get to this point, but I'm sure it was a challenge. What a relief!

Congrats,

Hi Craig,

I am thrilled for you! I know it has been a very long process for you and you are certainly most deserving of having your disability approved. I'm very sorry you are sick enough to qualify for disability, but very glad they had the good sense to approve your benefits. For this, I am going to do another Sclero Happy Dance!

:emoticon-congratulations:

I'm sure you ARE relieved to have that behind you all right, Craig.

I was both fortunate and grateful to have a rheumatologist who actually recommended disability to me and then did a great deal of the paperwork necessary.

Once the paperwork was completed (for my part),all that was left for me, was the telephone interview,

the *panel's final approval and that was it. *As I understand it, the panel is (partly) made up of doctors.

That was in 1997 and I have had one review since then. I completed the paperwork sent and returned it.

(It consisted of deeming me permanently disabled. My doctor declared my permanent disability).

Special Hugs,
