Forums Upgrade Done - Now Time for Tweaking

6 posts in this topic

Fab Sclero Forums Upgrade This Week!

Sclero Forums is in the process of becoming more fabulous and user-friendly than ever.

To that end, we will probably be offline for a few hours sometime in the next week or so. We expect to lose some messages during the ruckus, so if you notice any of yours gone, please resubmit them. (It would be a good idea to just copy/save your messages this week, especially if they are long ones, to make it easier to resubmit.)

Our colors and format will change drastically -- with many improvements -- and then we will tweak them again. Our logo might be gone for a little while, but no worry, it is still Sclero Forums!

People who have been having forum display issues (such as the emoticons overlapping the text when they are trying to compose a message or mobile display issues) should notice these things fixed after the upgrade.

If you notice any issues, or have suggestions for improvement, at any time -- before, during or after this upgrade -- please contact me.

We want your forums experience to be the very finest!

Okey-Doke, Shelley...Sounds great, to me! :emoticons-clap:

Though, I barely mastered turning on and texting on my cell phone, I know it has many more great features, which I'm sure I'll never learn ; however, I think it's SO great that this forum is becoming even MORE user-friendly, as well as accomodating those (who are much more tech-wise than I), who use their cellphones, Ipads, etc to sign on to our awesome forums :bravo:

I am in awe of cyber technology and the way our forums are kept so up-to-date, thanks to our Fearless Leader, aka Shelley and any other contributing Web Wizards

Well, the major upgrade is sort of completed.

We lost all of our Living Avatars and most of our photo gallery (so far, at least, it seems) and most of us will need to redo our automatic signatures, too.

Use this thread to report all the "interesting" observations you have about the upgrade and suggestions for improvements.

If you notice something that actually works better (oh joy!), please let us know in this thread, as well.

I was really thrown for a loop at first. I really miss the Living Avatars. I'll see if we that program will work with this version of our board. So I gave myself my picture of a circus, because that's what it feels like today.

Oh! The emoticons popped up below instead of at the right hand side! They are tinier. Huh. But some people were having trouble with them on the right hand side because when they'd type a message, the text would go underneath the emoticon panel.

:emoticons-yes:

Overall, it seems easier to enter a message, probably because the text display is larger or something.

Your turn!

Hi Shelley,

In Susie's chat this morning I made a comment to her and Jo, "I love the new look of the forum!" I'm excited to peruse over it. Thank you very much for working so hard and diligently for this new and exciting transformation. I would also like to thank other people who also worked with Shelley. I deeply appreciate it. :thank-you:
