MaryFanPhilly
Hi Folks, Anybody see a chiropractor on a regular basis? The arthritis in my back is awful and I can't get out of bed til I take pain meds and wait for them to work. I've talked to my rheumatologist about it before and at my next appointment will ask about his opinion on having my back adjusted, but wanted to hear any feedback from all of you first. Looking forward to hearing from you! Love, Mary in Philly
whirlway
Mary, I do see a chiropractor from time to time, but the best thing I do for myself and my poor bad back is get a massage on a regular basis. When you make your appt. make sure the therapist does therapeutic massage, not just foo-foo, make you feel better, massage. There is a big difference. My daughter is a massager therapist. Unfortunately, she lives a couple of hundred miles away. Good luck, I know it is not fun to have an aching back all the time.~whirlway
Sweet
Hey Mary! Love your pic, it's nice to put a face to the name. YES I go to the chiropractor weekly! It helps me tremendously! sometimes I even go twice per week. Give it a try, and let me know what you think. I also get a massage weekly as well. Love, Sweet
laweez
Hi all! you know my back has been killing me for 5 years. i've had bone density tests and scans and nothing ... nothing. Finally I couldn't stand it again and asked my rheumatologist for an MRI. We found a big fat cyst pressing on my lower back. I'm bummed, this is the first time I've had any Ob/Gyn involvement with my MCTD. Dr. mentioned inflammation in fallopian tubes and uterus.. i'm thing DUH (i have it every where else). I'm still waiting to hear about ob gyn appt. wish me luck.. any one have stories? xoxox jeanne
MaryFanPhilly
Thanks, everyone, for your input. You brought up some things that I hadn't considered but will look into, particularly the possibility of something going on that might not show up without MRI. I have two massage therapists in my family who are itching to get their hands on me, but I'm too sensitive to be touched. It stinks. All I know is that I'd love to be free of this daily pain without being strung out on meds. Not as easy as it sounds, and most people just don't understand, so it means an awful lot to me to have this message board and folks who do.
