Lupus SLE and systemic sclerosis.

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am new to this forum.

I’ve had Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) for over a decade, but was recently diagnosed with systemic sclerosis.

FYI: Prior to “starting a new topic” I ran a search on “lupus SLE and sceloderma overlap” and it came up with zero results.

Wondering if anyone out there is in the same predicament.

Thank you in advance for any input.

Hi Reina,

Welcome to these forums!

I'm sorry to hear that you've been suffering with SLE for over a decade and have recently had a diagnosis of scleroderma to add to the mix. I can understand that this new development must be rather worrying and send my best wishes to you.

Unfortunately the scleroderma/lupus overlap is all too common among our members (although not myself, thankfully!) I've included links to two of our medical pages Scleroderma in Overlap and Lupus in Overlap, which I hope you'll find helpful and informative. Our new search engine should be working correctly now (it's important to ensure that the spelling of the item for which you're searching is correct to ensure that accurate results can be found.)

We do recommend that our members consult a listed scleroderma expert, particularly as you have the added complication of lupus overlap to contend with, as these complex diseases do require specialist knowledge and expertise in order that they are dealt with correctly.

Kind regards,
