Calcific tendonitis near hip & systemic sclerosis

Recommended Posts

Hello! I’m in the early stages of systemic sclerosis. I’m seeing a scleroderma expert. I have no skin thickening yet, but have Raynaud's and intermittent tightening on my face and hands, extreme fatigue and joint pain.

I had an X-ray of my hips and it shows narrowing of my hip joints and calcific tendonitis near my right hip. Does anyone else have calcific tendonitis? My doctor thinks it’s most likely caused from my systemic sclerosis.

Hi Angel11,

I'm sorry to hear that you're suffering with calcific tendonitis, Raynaud's and other unpleasant symptoms. Calcific tendonitis can be one of the symptoms of scleroderma, but thankfully, I haven't had the dubious pleasure of it myself (and I'm hoping that it will be indefinitely postponed!)  However, we have had other members with this and I've found a couple of threads Calcific Tendonitis and Another Calcific Tendonitis,     which I hope you'll find helpful and interesting.

I'm very glad to hear that you're consulting a scleroderma expert, who is the best person to advise you about any symptoms connected with this disease.

Kind regards,

Thank you very much for the information and links.

It’s very helpful to read of anyone else dealing with similar issues. Scleroderma can make you feel like you’re alone on an island sometimes. It’s comforting to know you’re not alone!

Wishing everyone dealing with this disease a future of hope and healing. :flowers:
