Homolateral linear morphea?

Recommended Posts

This is the very first time I have ever written to someone asking information.

I've looked all over the internet to see a picture of someone who might have a similar body type. I found a old picture of a little Indian girl that resembles myself. My right side of my body from the breast down in smaller than the other and shorter. Even my right foot is.  I have significant muscle atrophy or I should say it's extreme must be atrophy. I am older but have yet able to meet a doctor who has seen someone like myself. I was wondering if there is a specialist that anyone knows off that I can at least set an appointment for?

I know this is a long shot but if anyone would respond I would truly appreciate it.

Hi Starla,

Welcome to these forums!

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing some worrying symptoms. Please note I have no medical training, but I would suggest that the symptoms you describe could relate to many different health problems and not necessarily linear morphea.

I would therefore suggest that you go back to your primary doctor, with a view to possibly obtaining a referral to a specialist, who may be able to advise you further.

Kind regards,

Hello Joelf, I do have numerous other medical conditions.

I have been diagnosed nearly 42 years ago with linear morphea. It's just that I have so much muscle atrophy that my right side of my body from the chest down is extremely smaller than the left, also a little more than a inch shorter. Even my right foot is a 5 1/2 and my left is a 7 1/2.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any experts in this area.

Hi Starla,

I've included a link to our listed scleroderma experts, some of which do specialise in linear morphea.

Thank you so much! I just would love to finally meet an expert, because every doctor I have ever met has never seen a case like mine. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. Thanks for the links. I'm so grateful to you.
