I have been doing research on getting a service dog. It has been interesting. I found that the retired police and and military personnel dogs go to an army base here and they give the dogs away.

The cost is getting them home and any supplies or further training; they have some of the puppy training until they graduate from that program. Google how to get a service dog; there is a lot of information.

Bless you all,

Quiltfairy.

Hi Quiltfairy,

That sounds a very good idea for you and hopefully you can obtain a service dog, without too much expense.

I remember how much you loved your pet dogs and it would be lovely for you to have one to help you and make your life a little easier.

Best wishes,

Yes I understand that they can train them to do most anything. I watched a YouTube video on it;  a dog can pick up things drooped, but the one thing that impressed me the most was a dog that picked up a dime off the floor and handed it to his trainer.

Look up service dogs on YouTube.

Good luck.
