hey sorry to hear about your bad experience at the dentist , it happened to me about 4 years ago when I was getting my wisdom tooth out ,they dragged out half my sinus but didn't relise, the side of my cheek filled up with puss from the wound in side my face and I was taking to hospital after 6 weeks of dreadful pain, they took me to theatre and did a clean up job on my cheek and sewed up the hole in my sinus that they made it took a while to get better and at the time the pain was herrendos, upto date tho its better but I have no sense of smell on my right nostril . i do hope your better soon and the feeling comes back hugs from jaxsxx

Thank you all so much for the warm wishes and hugs!! I went for another follow up today, the bone is exposed and has a bit of infection, hence the pain and continued swelling. I have to go back Thurs. if it's the same he is going to put me on prednisone (yeah  ) I have most of the feeling back, just a small patch that is still numb. Thank you for all the well wishes.

Hugs and Warm Wishes Back!

I finally decided yesterday that I better go see an oral surgeon for this tooth problem. The pain has gotten soo bad, I haven't been able to sleep more than a couple of hours a night so to top it all off I am exhausted! I know the pain is from the exposed bone and infection, my whole face is swollen, even my eye socket! Admist all this complaining (SORRY!) I do have a question. Do I need to tell this dr that my primary care physician thinks that I have an autoimmune disorder? I am going to see him in the morning and I don't take any type of medication (other than for hbp) but does he need to be aware of this?

Thanks All

Tammy

Tammy,

Poor girl - I'm sorry you are in so much pain and having so much swelling. Please tell the oral surgeon or whoever you are seeing in the morning any and all medications that you are on. You could mention that you have been having health problems and that an autoimmune disorder is suspected, but I know my dentist and endodonist are more concerned about my medications and any heart problems.

I hope things go well. Please let us know how it went. Good thoughts for you to feel better soon.

Big Hugs
