What Is The Significance Of Your Screen Name?

70 posts in this topic

I love this thread, it's the first time I have smiled all day I think. My name is actually Tamara but I have been called Tammy for years (easier to pronounce and when you live in the south, the easier the better when it comes to that "suuuthern draaaw"...lol). I also use bright_halo alot because my mom has always told me that I am her angel.

This one's easy.... We own a small wild bird speciality shop. Not birds just everything to attract them to your yard, and things for your yard...hammocks, chimes and so on. Hence the name Birdman and Wife !!!

Great Topic:

My name is as a result of my Bruce Springsteen fanaticism. I have been a Springsteen fan for years. For those who are fans, you may recall the character "GocartMozart" from the Boss's song Blinded by the Light, later redone by Manfred Mann.

"GocartMozart was checkin out the weather charts to see if it was safe to go outside"

Sam is my screen name and its also my nickname in real life. I had gotten it when I was born in 1965 from my mom who like watching the Show Bewitched, she like how Darin said "Sam" so she gave me the nickname Sam and the show came out the same year I was born. LOL!!

That is how I got it....

GocartMoz,

And little Early Burley came by in his Curly Wurly and asked me if I needed a ride!!!

LOL, sorry I couldn't help myself. Never did know what that line meant, maybe I don't want to know. As long as I can sing along!

When I was a kid, many, many years ago, my uncle used to tease me and call me Whirlaway after a racehorse, because I could run so fast. When I first set up my e-mail accnt, I tried to get whirlaway, but it was taken, so whirlway it was. Too bad I can't still run that fast, I can't run at all now, due to the many surgeries I have had.

I do have another handle but don't use it much and not here at all, it is Mamamariner. My kids call me that due to the fact that I am a complete and total Mariners baseball fan. My, oh, my! People in the pacific northwest should understand that. d:0) (If you look at that symbol sideways, it is me wearing my baseball hat! Maybe I should have put a frown on the face since they were eliminated yesterday, but hope springs eternal when it comes to baseball, there is always next season. :D

Hey Mamamariner,

I guess I could be Mamahawk as I am a die hard Seahawk's fan. Yesterday's game was a nail biter! My 5 year old told me he could hear me yelling clear down at the neighbor's house. Oh well.......its good therapy!

GO HAWKS!

Take care,

I use Annie - my middle name is Anne and I like it better than my first name. And N is the initial of my last name.

So interesting to hear everyone's name story...

Tru is my dear, special and adorable cocker spaniel. He is the love of my life together with his sister Mita (pronounced meata). Without these two, my life would be in despair. Tru is 12, and our time is limited, but I will do all I can to make sure his days are as happy and loving as he's made mine. Mita 8 and all still full of "puppy". My little loves.

tru, I think that is so special... to use your beloved dog's name as your screen name. It's also neat that you're a dog lover and have not only one dog but two  ... Hubby and I used to have a cocker... his when we got married...If yours is anything like Brandey was... and it sounds like he is, I sure understand your feelings for him :)

I love the name Mita too... just wondering... where did her name come from?

We adopted a poodle last November... her name was "Cuddles", but my hubby couldn't see himself calling her that (I saw his point)! lol Now, she must be in identity crisis, as she's called many endearing names, but we formally call her Miss Muffet, as you know, though she's very sweet, it's the way she and other poodles carry themselves, that we came to name her that :P

I can't remember if it was me or my friends who started calling me princess, but it was because every year I write a holiday/birthday list and send it round to my friends. No, I'm not 12! My birthday is a week before holiday and people were always asking me what I wanted as gifts, so I started keeping a list. It made sense, but I see how it came across as a spoiled princess! B is the first letter of my name.

I use jude because one of my late uncles started calling me that over 40 years ago and it stuck, with him, anyway. The grouch part, well, do NOT try to talk to me before noon. At least noon!
