Quick and Easy Fruit Treats

Recommended Posts

Just a really, really easy "recipe" if you want to call it that.

My kids love frozen blueberries or blackberries with just a sprinkle of sugar and a splash of milk.

Fold the berries and the milk together over and over and the milk freezes onto the berries making a frosty coating on each one.

A great alternative treat to ice-cream.

Take care,

Barefut

You hit on one of my favorite type treats. Throw your favorite fruit in a blender with some milk, yogurt, or soy milk (your preference) and blend. I peel overripe bananas and freeze them. It makes this smoothie just cold enough but not too cold to drink. I can't drink cold things. Some times I might add a little vanilla or powdered vitamin powder.

Big Hugs,

Janey

Hi Barefut,

The frozen berries and milk sounds great, I'm going to try it!

Another simple one is to peel, section and freeze oranges (removing seeds as you go). Then put the frozen orange sections in a blender with milk (or milk substitute or vanilla yogurt; I use almond milk) with a few teaspoons of honey or sugar, and it tastes just like a dreamsicle.

Warm Hugs,

My Mom used to make us chocolate covered frozen bananas on a stick.

There is a special kind of chocolate topping that freezes hard onto ice-cream when you pour it on and it makes like a shell.

Mom would push a wooden skewer stick in the banana first and freeze it. Then pour the chocolate topping over the banana and freeze it again.

Haven't thought about that one in a long time. Time to make it for my own kids I think.

YUM!

Take care,

Barefut
