Recommended Posts

I did not sleep well at all last night, I called and made a appointment for at 1:00, I had talked with my nurse and she said you might have to go se a specialist, I told her I kinda thought. When You go from using you arm to where you can hardly move it I'd say you would see a specialist. I think I will make an appointmnet with my orthopaedic doctor after I see my family doctor, I am going to get a shot even though I dont like them but I can't handle this anymore. It';s effecting my sleep I can't do my hair or shave or lift anything that is somewhat heavy. I move wrong it hurts.Well I just wanted to let you know.. Sam

Will post wht the doctor say's.

Hello Sam, I thought we might have heard from you by now. I was hoping you might have received something to help with the pain. At least enough medication until you can see a specialist and find out the real ailment. Let us know what you found out today. I'm not waiting on pins and needles but would like to know what happened today. Sheryl

Ok here is what the results of the MRi said about my neck.. I

1. No large disk herniation or central canal stenosis or cord compression.

2. Mild to moderate degenerative disk disease, spondylotic and uncovertebral hypertrophy at C3-4, C4-5, C5-6. C6-7 levels.

3. Above changes cause mild to moderate multilevel neural foraminal narrowing, greatest in C5-6 and left C6-7 Levels, mild central canal narrowing.

4. Straightening of hte C-spine can be seen in paitents with muscle spasm, no compression derformity or subluxation is seen.

He told me if my shoulder keeps up to call him next week and we will do another MRI. He seems to think it is my rotor cuff. He did give me a shot and some muscle relaxers. I he asked me if I wanted some sleeping pills, I told him no incase of something happening to my parents I wouldnt be able to wake up and help.

I am waiting for a call from a Pain clinic or doctor. If they dont call today I am to call in the morning and make an appointment, Dr, said they will help my neck. So that Is where I am at now. Thanks for all the lovely responses, I am so glad you all know and wunderstand what we go through each and every day and we are all there for one another..

You did the right thing, Sam. When the pain level gets where you were, it's time to do something, that's for sure. Lets hope the pain can get turned around for you.

Thanks for letting us know how your appointment went.

Sorry Sam,

The shoulder pain is so hard to deal with. I take cortisone shots when it gets really bad, that is twice now. On top of that I would take mobic. I hope your relief comes soon and things calm down. Let us know about your MRI and rotator cuff. I hope it is not a tear. Susie54

Sweet, he asked me about PT I told him that I had tried that it worked for two weeks then it starting hurting more. No he didn't give me any pills, I hate taking meds and I already take too many . I will be going to see a pain doctor so we will see what he or she wants to do. I know they are going to inject my neck.

Hi Sam,

I'm just getting my rotator cuff injury better! It was exactly as you described. You knew of certain things you couldn't do and then sometimes you would move your arm in such a way that the pain would strike and you would just gasp out loud it hurt so bad and so sudden.

My doctor gave me very simple exercises to do at home. She also had me alternate heat and cold on it a few times each day. That and time are what have helped me. She did offer me a shot, but I stay away from those since I don't do well with steroids orally I just don't want to mess around with injections of them.

I wish you luck. Let us know what happens next.

xoxo emmie
