Will The Real You Please Stand Out!

14 posts in this topic

Sam, we never would have found each other. Neither of us look like our previously posted pictures. We still want to look like them. At least I do at times. It is still hard to look in the mirror and feel like it isn't me looking back. It is someone else who just has my eyes, and teeth and part of my smile. Hey, we can still cook. That is a plus. Our husbands may keep us around a few years longer. Mine use to tell me he was going to trade me in on a 20 year old. Now, I tell him he would have to go back to WORK to support one. They like to eat out and buy, buy, buy. He doesn't mention it much anymore. he likes home cookin. and not having to leave home. Life is good. We just have to get use to all its changes and change with it if we can. I am fat and sassy now instead of lean and kean. I know you thought I was going to say lean and mean. I wonder what my next change will be? I am not in any hurry to find out.

Sheryl,

So you and Sam met? I got your phone message, but everytime I thought to call back it was too late or I was at work. I just sent you another private message, I hope you got it. I'm hopin' to see you this weekend. I'm bringin' a pumpkin roll to share.

Wish I could have met with the two of you, but it is really a busy time for me, maybe after the holidays?

see ya' soon. xoVee

Oh goodie, are you all meeting? I would love to meet someone! On another board I chat with a gal that is 4 hours from me, but we still haven't managed to get together. If you all get together, take a group pic and share with us!

Warm and gentle hugs,

Will do Sweet. Vee, Sam and I haven't met yet. If we don't get together in the next two weeks we will have to plan something when I get back from Florida. We may have a couple others who will want to get together by then. I will see you Saturday hopefully. I had planned a day at moms so I will try to get in at least half of the meeting if not all of it. When is the luncheon? I need to write it on my calendar while I am at home so it isn't forgotten. Sweet, you can come to Michigan and we can have a get together. Sam and Vee and Karen are all less than 1 and 1/2 hours away from me. We will figure out ways to all meet at one place at the same time if we have to wait until spring. Sheryl

Hey Sweet,

I'd travel across the mountains to meet you! Anybody else in the Pacific Northwest want to plan a get together? Maybe in the Spring or Summer when there's not snow to worry about driving in.

Who camps? I have been wanting to revisit my childhood stomping grounds, Cle Elum River and Salmon la Sac campground. I'll bet so much has changed. That would be a good central location for Washingtonians.

That would be fun! I may just organize it myself!

I get jealous of you East Coasters getting to meet.

Love yous all

Take care,

Barefut

Thanks Pam. That is the real me. At least the me of this month. The changes aren't really as bad as they could have been. So far my lips still cover my teeth and my skin isn't shrinking around my mouth this past 6 months. Funny how it starts then stops then starts and stops and maybe doesn't come back at all or comes back with a vengence. Slow progression or very fast or nothing at all for some of us. Is it what we eat or drink or where we live? So strange that we can't all have one common denominator. Or we haven't yet figured out what that denominator is. I am off to my moms today and tomorrow. I will be seeing Vee. Sam I will invite Vee for Monday but don't count on it this time. When Michele comes to Michigan again next fall we will have to get all us Michiganders together. We can have a day out somewhere or just relax here at my home on the lake. We have lots of water toys. Things to keep in mind. Everyone have a great day, week and month. Enjoy any festivities you have coming up next week. Most of all enjoy your loved ones if they are near. Give them a soft gentle hug and let them know you care. Sheryl

I LOVE what's happenin' here! (I'm workin' my way from the bottom to the top of this thread  )!

I'd also like to say that your picture is very nice, Sheryl. I liked your first pic, too... I wish I looked 1/8 as good as this more recent picture of you!:P

One of these days, I'm going to get a picture or two put up here B)

Big Hugs,

Oh Barefut and Everyone in the Washington area plus,

I live in central Montana, but my hubby and I love the coast!

I don't know how much of a reality it would be for me to ever meet up with all who live in that area... or who could manage to meet. However, it is a GREAT idea and I hope those of you who CAN do it... I think that would be totally awesome! I would live vicariously through those who DO meet!

Hugs ALL!

Susie
