Alcohol And Cellcept, Other Meds

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone...

Well, it's Saturday night and I find myself going on a date...Barefut...I will fill you in on it later....

How bad is it to have alcohol with Cellcept, in particular. I also take Procardia, Nexium, Reglan (I know that one's not so good) and Zantac. I do not plan on over doing it...but what if? I know a good ole glass of red is good but what if it's done not in moderation? I very rarely drink but about once every two months I do.

Thanks....

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

I hope you have a wonderful time on your date! I am not taking any of the medications you mentioned, so I can't answer your question specifically to your meds. Nonetheless, two of my medications (Celebrex and Neurontin) both say ot to take with alcohol. I asked my pharmacist how serious it would be if I drank while taking this medication as I was going to my sister's wedding at the time. He told me that if I drank a little bit once in a while it wouldn't hurt, that really the warnings were for more frequent drinking of alcohol.

You might want to do a little bit of research on your own and look up your medications on the internet and see what it says OR call your pharamacist really quickly before you go out.

Warm wishes,

Heidi

HiYa Jennifer,

Goody for you to go on a date!!!! I don't think a teensy glass of wine would be the worst thing for you, tho it doesn't agree with me personally. If we see some internet pics of some gal dancing on tables we'll know who it is...... Have fun! Love, Mary in Philly

I'm not taking any of your meds, but I'm on several others. I asked my doctor if it would be bad if I drank a little for the holidays. He said I could, just not too much - a glass or two, which for me a light weight means half a glass and I'd be silly.

Have fun!!

Sorry to disappoint...there was no dancing on any tables and I chose iced tea!!! I think I will save the drinking for something worth while....like my 40th birthday...YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shucks! I was looking forward to the pictures! :D

Good for you! If you're not sure, then the best thing to do is - don't do it. I hope you had fun on the date and that the omission of alcohol was not a problem.

Big Hugs,

Janey

Hi Jennifer!

SOooooooo did you meet Dr. Dreamy? :D

I have been known to have the occasional margurita or glass of wine or two. I haven't had any problems with that since being on Cellcept. I don't remember reading anything written on the warnings about mixing alcohol with Cellcept.

I used to have a good time in my 20's. Since I had kids I rarely drink and now one glass of wine will suit me fine.

Can't wait to hear more about your date!

Barefut

Take care,
