I swore I wasn't going to cry

25 posts in this topic

Truman passed away about an hour ago. The vet called and said he was doing very badly. My friend and I went to see him and there was no other decision than to put him down. As the vet was getting ready, I leaned down and caressed Tru's head, and at that time, he took his last breath and passed. It's as if he waited for me to get there.

I'm so glad I did not have to make the decision to put him down, rather that he made the decision to hold on until I got there to pass away on his own.

I love you Tru........

Tru, I am so sorry you have lost such a good friend. Sounds like you were just as good a friend to him and I am glad he was able to wait for you to say goodbye.

Hugs to you, sweetie.

Warm wishes,

Jefa

Tru,

You have my heartfelt condolences. You were a brave person to be there with him at the end. That's something I couldn't have done. My son held our bassett when they had to put him down, I just couldn't do it. I applaud your bravery and devotion to Truman, I'm sure he passed in peace with his "pet human" with him.

Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

Peace :)

Tru, I sure am glad things worked out for the best. Having you and your dog together those last moments of his life was good for you. Sorry, it happened as it did but we all need to learn the process of letting go. Sometimes it is easier if it is an animal rather than a loved one. I don't have animals because I don't want the pain you are going through at the moment. I enjoy my friends pets. I like to go to much to be a good mate to any pets. I marvel at what people do for them. I feel sorry you are having pain over Truman. Your friend Sheryl

Tru,

I am so sorry. Animals have a very special place in our lives and help us through a lot of things people can't. They are always there just as you were there when he needed you. I am so glad you got to be with him at the end. I know there are no words that can make anything better. Just know you are in a lot of people's thoughts. I send you my sincere condolences and lots of hugs.

Oh tru,

I am so, so sorry for losing your very special little buddy.

I'm glad you didn't have to make the decision too...

I hope that being able to say goodbye to him helped, though it's something we never want to

have to do.

I've loved all of my dogs... that unconditionallove they give us can never be replaced by any

other.

Please know that you are in my thoughts, my cyber-friend.

Gentle Hugs being sent your way,

Susie

I'm so sorry Tru, my heart really goes out to you. When our first dog died, I cried for so long and then for weeks I'd suddenly think about it again and cry. Even now when we talk about her I cry actually! He had a lovely life, I'm sure you were a great mum to him.

I am so, so sorry. I am sitting here crying and my own dog came and rested his head in my lap. They are truly our best friends and give us such unconditional love. I can only imagine how your heart is breaking. Again, I am so, so sorry.

Hugs from Minnesota.

Peggy
