Raynauds!

25 posts in this topic

Thanks so much everyone to the response to my post.

I have a script for Nifedipine if I need to use it, which I will probably fill soon.

I'm not taking anything for Raynauds at the moment, have been trying to hold off and not wanted to add another pill to my list.

How are you Peanut, are you doing ok?, you are in my thoughts.

Take care

Celia

Ced, I also am on Norvasc 10mg for the lowering of blood pressure and Raynaud's. I hated adding more pills to my repitiore. One more is one more. You would think our bodies would be on overload from all the different medications we are prescribed for seen and unseen ailments.

Hi everyone.

I saw my rheumatologist yesterday and asked what I can take for the Raynauds and he suggested Viagra! :P But not until the fall though since it's warming up.

Hey CED

I took the adalat for a while and it did little good except bad headaches so they stoped it.

Due to a problem with heart arythmia I was put on Verapramil, which my dr said can also help the raynauds but thus far I have moved to a warmer house but still suffer raynaud attack daily. The Dr did double the dose but still doeant help that much, but I have to stay on it for my heart now anyway.

I dont get any side effects from it except constipation.

Kindest Regards Sharon

Karen, I have to be careful year round in regard to the raynauds. Going into an air conditioned room/store from the hot outdoors can trigger an attack. My rheumatologist wants me to carry a sweater/jacket EVERYWHERE I go in the summer due to that. I have had raynauds attack in my tongue of all places!!!!!

Peace :)

Barbara,

Get out! Your tounge? I have to say that's a first.

I do get attacks in the summer too but it's not that bad unless of course I'm in A/C, so I think instead of adding yet another medication to the littany of ones I'm on now, I'll wait it out until the Fall.

I've also noticed since I am no longer working in an office, my fingers arent as messed up from infections and sores etc. I guess keeping the Raynauds under somewhat control and not slicing my skin open with papercuts and mangling my cuticles has helped. If the Plaquenil doesn't help by the fall then I'll try the Viagra I suppose. Lol

I take Niphedipine as well and do have a lower blood pressure because of it. So, I eat a small bag of potatoe chips for the salt to keep my BP up. I have been on the Niphedipine for at least a year and so far it has done a good job controlling the Raynaud's. Good Luck Gidget

Hi Celia,

My name is Leslie and I am new to this group, I am taking Nefedphine and so far I have no side effects. Everyone is different and some may or may not have any side effects. My advice to you is if you experiencing side effects you need to talk to your doctor, you might have to change medication. Good luck and all the best to you.
