Gold medal for Gareth

15 posts in this topic

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share with everyone that Gareth's softball team won the gold medal in the Pa Special Olympics being held here in State College. They had two games yesterday (in 88 degree temps) and the games for today were canceled because it was 90 by 11:00 this morning. I was just so happy that he could even play this year since he was soooooooooo sick last summer. I am just so thankful that the Plaquenil stopped his Sclero/UCTD symptoms, I had to share the news with you all!!!

Take care, Everyone.

Margaret

Hi Margaret,

Sorry I am so late here.. I have been so busy with planning my fundraiser I have not been on line that much. Congrats to Gareth and his team! That is awesome! The heat was horrible..good thing they cancelled the next games. :)

Hi Margaret,

That is so wonderful...I am so happy that he is feeling better and able to participate in such a great event. I was wondering if, historically, Gareth has had problems with his gross motor and fine motor skills but has improved over the years. My little guy, who is also autistic, is almost 4, and has problems in these areas, and I am wondering if I can expect him to overcome them as he gets older. It is really hard to imagine that he would ever be able to participate in and type of sport on any level down the road, but on the other hand our kids surprise us all the time. Thanks for the happy update-Eileen

OK....here's a good laugh for everyone!!! Sweet e-mailed me about her vacation because I PM her since I didn't see my post on the forums. I didn't even know this was here........shows how computer smart I am!!! It will also tell you that 'I don't wonder off the beaten path'!!! Now I found this post that I thought was never posted because it was too private and not sclero related. DUUUUUH.........don't mind me!!! Thank you all for the nice comments.......5 months late!!!

Sweet.....thanks for telling me about this.

Take care, Everyone.

Margaret
