Medical Acronyms

8 posts in this topic

Is there any place on ISN that explains medical acronyms (like CPK, ANA, etc.). They are very frustrating when a person isn't a sclerodermian acronymite  . I haven't seen anyone on this forum use them, but they're used a lot on others.

Comfort and cheer!

Purr,

That still makes me laugh when you call us sclerodermians

Hi Christy,

Yes, in our Top Notch Medical Sites there is a link for All Acronyms which is helpful with all sorts of industries, including Medical. Although it is a bit worrisome to me that "bid", for example, can mean either "twice a day" or "brought in dead"!
