One Of Those, 'do You Know Questions'

Recommended Posts

Hello to all,

I went to the gastro yesterday - because I have gastroparesis. So far nothing has worked to relieve my nausea. His suggestion was a medication that comes from Canada, Domperidone - I wondered, if anyone in scleroderma land has tried this? His next option was botox injections during EGD targeting the pyloric mucle - I have read these work but only for about 5 months - has anyone had this?

Your input is always appreciated,

Jlf, Have you tried Colestid. That is what my doctor prescribed for me. I take 6 a day. If that one didn't work I was going to have to get Domperidone from Canada. My Gastro doctor has an US license and a Canadian license. I'm glad the Colestid is working. I haven't heard of the Botox injections. Sheryl

Hello JLF, I have tried Domperidone, made me feel worse. I do know the author, who wrote the book "The first year Scleroderma", (Karen Gottesman), I spoke with her at a conferance in LA, and she did say, at that time, she was on it and it was working well for her. That was a few years ago, so I don't know how she is doing now. I tried Reglan and a few others, all of these meds had bad side affects for me. I do have Nausea off and on, and I take Compazine, it seems to work for me sometimes. I also use an OTC product as needed. I hope you find some relief soon. Take care.
