Swollen fingers

4 posts in this topic

Over the weekend I ate had a little to much sodium, my fingers are really swollen, especially one finger in particular, one of the moms at my daughters soccer game pointed it out to me and said it looks really swollen and asked if I was okay.

I'm drinking tons of water to flush out sodium. Should I call my doctor because one of my fingers is bigger than the rest? Is this normal with sclero? My hands do not hurt at all hard to bend the one that is swollen, I feel like a pain calling her, just want to make sure it's nothing serious that I'm missing.

Hi Kelly,

Ohhhh I know this feeling. It happens to be every so often. If it were me, BUT, remember you do what you feel best about, but if it were me I'd give it a few days, continue to flush my system with water and then call the doctor, oh I'd say by Wednesday if it's not improved.

Hi kelly,

It IS disconcerting when something like this happens for the first time.

There are days when the fingers on my right hand are so taut, it's hard to believe! My right side seems more afflicted than my left, too.

It's good you asked, because I've always felt it's better to err on the side of caution...than to say nothing...and have it be something, kelly!

I can certainly understand what you are going through. My pointer finger is always swollen. It used to be my whole hand, but 3 weeks ago I was put on medrol and avara and I must say they are working and I feel great. Most of the swelling is going down, except, the one finger is still swollen on both hands. They do get much worse if I eat foods with lots of sodium, like pizza. Let us know how you're doing.
