finger sore

4 posts in this topic

Hi Folks

What do you cover your fingers sores with? I keep banging mine ( not broke ) and I wonder what is the best to cover my finger with?

I wear gloves if doing something or in garden, I need something small, neat and padded. Any ideas?

Christine

Hello Christine

I am not sure what you mean by finger sores and am not sure whether you have Raynaud's and are actually referring to digital ulcers. That being the case we have a lot of information regarding digital ulcers and preventing Raynaud's attacks.

The link to digital ulcers also shows pictures so you can see if your sores are similar.

Finding gloves to protect and allow movement is difficult, as you know and I can't help there I'm afraid. No doubt someone will chime in with some ideas.

Take care.

Hi,

I have lumps of calcium in my fingers lots of people with Scleroderma have. Very sore and I think they can break out.

Hello Christine

Sorry I didn't think of calcinosis thankfully because I don't have this issue. We have a page on calcinosis that may be helpful if you have a read. Unfortunately I did notice that it says there are no real solutions for calcinosis.

Have you tried taping cotton wool pads over the sore areas with plasters to create some sort of padding and putting a pair of gloves over that? A friend of mine gave me gloves made out of muslin which I wear when Raynaud's causes cramp in my fingers because they warm up the hand whilst being thin enough for me to use my hands. If these sound like they may be useful PM me and I'll check it out with my friend.

I know there are a lot of people on the main forum with calcinosis so I am going to post your question on the main forum with a link to your original post so that you'll get more replies.

Take care.
