Reality check

5 posts in this topic

My husband and I were out walking yesterday when we saw walking in our direction someone I have know for about 20 years. We were very friendly when our children were tiny, but now our paths only cross occassionally - once a year or so - usually when shopping in the supermarket. Anyway - yesterday she was about to walk straight past me, and only stopped because I said "hello B------." She was apologetic and said "I didn't recognise you". Due to the Sclero, I've not aged much, so I've concluded that either her eyesight has got very bad, or that the sclero related changes I see in my face are not just a figment of my imagination, but really do exist. Not something I wanted confirming!

Lizzie,

I'm quite sure she didn't recognize you simply because, due to scleroderma, you look so much younger and prettier!
