Janey,

Wow. I am so sad to hear what you just went through. It resembles my initial diagnosis. What did you have to send you into the dr. besides the cough? Were you feeling like you had pneumonia?

I am sitting here worrying about the lines on my face and here you are in ICU. I am so sorry!!

I hope you are soon feeling better and recuperate quickly. I bet you are so glad to get back home.

Take it easy,

Jennifer

Oh Janey, you have been through so much. Please take it very easy for a long time. Infection really is an enemy of MCTD> I have that also. Your husband should get an award for taking so much responsibility and care. You made smart decisions and please rest. Glad you are home now. Susie54

Thank you all so much for the kind words and support! What a great extended family you are.

Things are moving along. I've dropped 25 lbs of fluids already this week so just getting up and running back and forth to the bathroom has given me some great exercise. They've got me on a diuretic for a month so hopefully I'll see more fluids disappear. My pajama bottoms that I couldn't get past my knees at the hospital are now baggy again. WhooHoo! The PT has me on an exercise program to get leg strength back. Of course this exposide sent my poly on a rampage and my CPK jumped back up to 1500 so muscles are screaming again. That too will correct itself.

Jen - Besides for the cough I had a high fever (101 - 103), then the night we called 911, my whole body gave out and I literally couldn't move a muscle. I was having a very hard time breathing. During the week prior I was up and down with fever, lots of coughing and totally exhausted unable to get out of bed. No - I had no idea I had pneumonia and the Tech in the ER on Tuesday and the doctor I saw on Thursday both said they didn't hear anything wrong with my lungs so neither ordered an x-ray. Go figure.

Thanks again to you all for the support and encouragement. I love you all!

Big Hugs,

Good Heavens! How awful. I, went to the doctor once because I was so congested, but the doctor diagnosed a sinus condition. Gave me some samples and sent me home. Two days later I was in the ER gasping for breath caused by double pneumonia. I was in the hospital for a week that time. The doctor admitted to me later he had "dropped the ball." Sheesh! Needless to say I no longer see that guy. It's good to see you back!

Janey, I can't believe what you have been through. You have to be a very strong willed person to handle all of that. I'm glad to hear your doing better, I hope all is well with you from here on in. Take good care of yourself.
